The Ward Clerk handles day-to-day clerical duties including answering phones, contacting providers, and coordinating department paperwork. They work within the electronic medical record to ensure smooth operations across inpatient and outpatient units. This role keeps departments running efficiently amid patient care demands.
The Monitor Technician observes heart beats, electrocardiograms, and continuous pulse oximetry for patients on telemetry. They recognize basic cardiac rhythms, including life-threatening ones, across inpatient and outpatient units. This vigilant monitoring supports timely clinical responses in a dynamic hospital environment.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Successful completion of Telemetry Course within 6 months of hire
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to recognize basic cardiac rhythms
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical duties for Medical-Surgical, SWING, Clinical Decision Unit, and Birthing Center units
- Answer phones and contact providers as needed
- Coordinate department paperwork and work within the electronic medical record
- Observe heart beats, electrocardiograms, and continuous pulse oximetry of patients on telemetry
- Recognize basic cardiac rhythms including life-threatening rhythms for inpatient and outpatient units
