About this role

Children’s Mercy is home to one of the few Comprehensive Colorectal Centers in the nation. The center takes a team-based approach to care for children with colorectal conditions such as Hirschsprung disease and other anorectal and pelvic floor disorders. Registered Nurses provide the highest level of pediatric colorectal care through nationally recognized providers.

Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to deliver safe, high-quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate nursing care. They manage clinic patients in collaboration with providers and the care team, including phone triage and collection of clinical records like labs, pathology, operative reports, and radiology imaging. Nurses coordinate patient care to ensure high-quality delivery and assist with surgery scheduling.

Join an inclusive and compassionate team at Children’s Mercy, recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top pediatric hospital for eleven consecutive years. The hospital engages in meaningful community programs and partnerships to improve children’s lives beyond its walls. Staff contribute to performance improvement initiatives across surgery clinics.
