Clinicians deliver 70% direct patient care with one-on-one treatments using various tools for effective, fun sessions. Perform assessments, interpret evaluations, and develop treatment plans in consultation with physicians. Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Certified Occupational Therapist
- Experience delivering family-centered pediatric patient care
- Ability to perform occupational therapy assessments and interpret evaluations
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment plans supporting functional improvement
- Familiarity with hippotherapy and ranch-based therapy settings
- Skills in sensory integration, functional skills, and daily-living activities for pediatrics
Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret evaluations and test results to determine occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription
- Help patients accomplish treatment goals by administering manual exercises and instructing in functional skills, sensory activities, and daily-living activities
- Administer occupational therapy treatments and direct treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants
- Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers
- Design home exercise programs, instruct patients, families, and caregivers, and recommend assistive equipment or follow-up programs
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records according to the law
- Maintain patient confidence and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential according to the law
- Maintain safe and clean working environment and adhere to infection-control policies and protocols
