About this role
The Joint Commission conducts a nationwide search for an Acute Care Registered Nurse with leadership experience in quality, accreditation, and regulations. The Psychiatric RN Field Representative surveys health care organizations throughout the United States. This remote role (#LI-REMOTE) requires 100% nationwide travel.
Apply systems analysis skills and inductive reasoning to determine compliance with standards and functionality of care delivery systems. Engage health care organization staff in interactive dialogues on standards-based issues to assess compliance. Identify opportunities for improving compliance during surveys.
Prepare management reports that link individual standards deficiencies with potential systems vulnerabilities and organization risk points. Communicate findings to health care organization leadership in a constructive and collegial style. Participate in other Joint Commission activities as assigned by supervisor.
Join a team focused on accreditation and quality improvement in psychiatric hospital settings. Leverage experience in Psychiatric Hospital/facility operations and Joint Commission standards. Contribute to enhancing health care practices nationwide through fieldwork and reporting.
Requirements
- Graduate of approved school of nursing and hold a master’s degree in appropriate discipline
- Current professional license in discipline required at time of hire and maintained throughout employment
- CPHQ certification through NAHQ at time of hire or attain by 12/31/28
- Experience working in a Psychiatric Hospital/facility
- Five years of recent health care experience, including 3 years direct clinical experience and 2 years accreditation or certification leadership
- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards with direct involvement in two Joint Commission surveys
- Contemporary knowledge of health care operations, clinical practice, performance improvement methods, and current research trends
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, interviewing, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
