The Hospital Nursing Department is a 25-bed Critical Access hospital serving Medical, Surgical, and Swing Bed patients and families. The team provides a plan of care based on Provider instruction and Nursing Care Planning to meet patient goals. This ensures optimal care for health, safety, and quality of life.
The team consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Health Unit Coordinators, and Nursing Assistants. Collaborates with team to ensure all patient needs are met and daily tasks completed. Provides a caring environment by listening to physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients and families.
Mission is to provide individualized personal and nursing care while preserving patient’s rights and human dignity confidentially. Encourages patients to function at their highest level of ability. Full-time .9 FTE position with rotating evening and night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays.
Requirements
- At least grade school education, prefer high school diploma or GED
- MN Nursing Assistant Certification preferred, or willing to obtain CNA
- Ability to perform patient care tasks including assisting with daily activities
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety protocols
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with patient mobility
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and dignity
- Availability for rotating shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Provide personal and nursing care for the patient in accordance with the patient's plan of care
- Provide care that will help patients function at their highest level of ability
- Ensure patients are in a safe environment
- Carry out daily assignments as assigned
- Stay informed of and provide care in accordance with Lakewood’s policies and procedures
- Collaborate with team to ensure all patient needs are met and daily tasks are completed
- Provide a caring environment to patients and families by listening to their needs to meet physical, spiritual, and emotional needs
