About this role

The Joint Commission seeks an Acute Care Registered Nurse with leadership experience in quality, accreditation, and regulations. Experience in a Pediatric hospital or Childrens Specialized Services area is required. The RN Field Representative surveys health care organizations throughout the United States from any location nationwide.

Apply systems analysis skills and inductive reasoning to determine compliance with standards and functionality of care delivery systems. Engage health care organization staff in interactive dialogues on standards-based issues to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities. Prepare management reports linking deficiencies with systems vulnerabilities and organization risk points.

Communicate findings to health care organization leadership in a constructive and collegial style. Participate in other Joint Commission activities as assigned by supervisor. All positions require 100% nationwide travel and specific availability for scheduling.

Demonstrate ability to observe ongoing health care treatments in real time without interruption. Inspect medical facilities, equipment, and procedures including emergency exits and cleanliness areas. Meet physical demands such as standing for long periods, walking distances, climbing stairways, and examining small labels.

Requirements

  • Graduate of approved school of nursing and hold a master’s degree in appropriate discipline
  • Current professional license in discipline required at time of hire and maintained
  • CPHQ certification through NAHQ at time of hire or attain by 12/31/28
  • Five years of recent health care experience including 3 years direct clinical in pediatric settings
  • 3 years of accreditation, certification leadership or senior management experience
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards with direct involvement in two Joint Commission surveys
  • Contemporary knowledge of health care operations, clinical practice, and performance improvement methods
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, interviewing, and communication skills
