About this role

The Clinical Dietitian reports to the Clinical Nutrition Manager and provides nutrition care to patients. This role delivers medical nutrition therapy according to policy and interdisciplinary staff consultation. It ensures comprehensive support for patient nutritional needs in a top-ranked hospital.

Day-to-day duties include performing and documenting nutrition assessments, reassessments, and education per the nutrition care process. Manage patient load by prioritizing based on acuity with other dietitians and addressing nutrition issues. Utilize formulary products appropriately for age-specific populations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nutrition program
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Licensed dietitian in Arkansas within 90 days of hire
  • Previous experience in an acute clinical nutrition setting preferred
  • Open to new graduates

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Perform and document nutrition assessment, reassessment, and education according to the nutrition care process
  • Follow policies and procedures related to patient care, safety, and quality
  • Manage day-to-day operations in patient load, prioritizing with other RDs based on acuity and policy
  • Utilize available formulary products and appropriate usage for age-specific patient populations
  • Maintain data into event reporting system as needed to ensure safety and quality of care
  • Serve as a resource in clinical situations involving nutrition care
  • Serve as an advocate in representation and support of nutrition services and WRMC’s initiatives
