About this role
Performs radiographic examinations for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury in accordance with departmental standards, policies and procedures. Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by a physician. This PM shift role runs 5:30pm to 2am with rotating weekends and every other Saturday overnight.
Determines appropriate exposure factors and positions patient utilizing immobilization devices when appropriate to insure optimum film quality. Adheres to department standards of radiographic quality. Maintains supplies needed to ensure adequate level for quality patient care.
Consistently maintains an attitude of professionalism, cooperation and positive interaction with co-workers, physicians, patients and families. Maintains environment that is safe based on age and developmental status. Ability to work weekends, holidays and emergency call back to accommodate staffing needs.
May be exposed to radiation during procedures and required to lift and move patients. Participates in annual emergency drills and maintains current CPR certification. Advocate Health offers programs that invest in career development alongside comprehensive Total Rewards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
- Certificate or Associate Degree in Radiology Technology
- ARRT Registered or registry eligible
- IDNS Licensed
- Current CPR Certification
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
- Basic understanding of R.I.S. and basic computer knowledge
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and emergency call back
