About this role

The Joint Commission seeks an Acute Care Registered Nurse with leadership experience in quality, accreditation, and regulations for a nationwide search. Selected candidates can be located anywhere in the United States. The RN Field Representative surveys health care organizations to assess compliance with standards.

Apply systems analysis skills and inductive reasoning to evaluate the degree of compliance and functionality of care delivery systems. Engage health care organization staff in interactive dialogues on standards-based issues to identify improvement opportunities. This role requires 100% nationwide travel.

Prepare management reports that link standards deficiencies with systems vulnerabilities and organization risk points. Effectively communicate findings to health care organization leadership in a constructive, collegial style. Participate in other Joint Commission activities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of approved school of nursing and hold a master’s degree in appropriate discipline
  • Current professional license in discipline required at time of hire and maintained throughout employment
  • CPHQ certification through NAHQ at time of hire or attain by 12/31/28
  • Five years of recent health care experience, including 3 years direct clinical experience and 3 years accreditation, certification leadership or senior management experience
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards with direct involvement in two Joint Commission surveys
  • Contemporary knowledge of health care operations, clinical practice, performance improvement methods, and current research and trends
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, interviewing, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Available to work two or three weeks per month for part-time or four weeks for full-time with 100% nationwide travel
