About this role

Perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages. Assist with routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries. Bonus eligible for external candidates.

Exhibit problem-solving skills of a complex nature. Participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance, and troubleshooting. Handle specimen processing, phlebotomy, and customer service duties.

For MLS roles, interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge. Demonstrate problem-solving skills of a highly complex nature. Participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation.

Join the General Lab at Fosston Hospital with day/evening rotation shifts, including weekends and holidays. No call obligation. Full-time position in a clinical hospital environment.

Compensation ranges from $24.48-$36.72 for MLT and $30.14-$45.21 for MLS. Access comprehensive benefits supporting well-being and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or equivalent within one year of hire (MLT)
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) within one year of hire (MLS)
  • Graduate of an associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or meets CLIA guidelines for alternative route (MLT)
  • Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS)
  • MLT (ASCP) certified with additional semester hours and 2 years full-time lab experience (MLS alternative)

Responsibilities

  • Perform and report tests of all complexity levels on patients of all ages
  • Assist with routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries
  • Exhibit problem-solving skills of a complex nature
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring
  • Conduct instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Process specimens and perform phlebotomy
  • Provide customer service
  • Interpret and correlate test results with disease states (MLS)
